The Embroidered Garden – Embroidered Floral PhotographsIn the series The Embroidered Garden, I patiently hand stitch, embroider and embellish floral photographs I took of previous works from the Fiber & Flora collection. All dried flowers in the photographs are either from the rich landscapes of my homeland South Africa or the vibrant gardens of the Netherlands that I now call home.Using a mixture of embroidery yarns to create the perfect colour match to each flower, and adorning single elements with delicate beads. I create a reflection of each floral still life that enhances and brings out their splendour, while also staying true to the original beauty of each flower.Every piece is framed in a minimal hand made hardwood frame. With hooks on the back for ideal wall hanging.Each art piece comes with a certificate of authentication.
