Description BTMS 25 is a double-duty cosmetic Ingredient that functions as both a conditioner and an emulsifier. It is composed of two different Ingredients, one a conditioning agent (Behentrimonium Methosulfate), and the other an emulsifying agent (Cetearyl Alcohol). INCI Name: Behentrimonium Methosulfate (and) Cetearyl Alcohol. Ingredient Function: Emulsifier and conditioning agent/ conditioner. Appearance: White to off-white or creamy waxy beads. May also come in Flakes form. Solubility: Oil-Soluble Usage Rate: 1% to 10% (of the product batch weight/ total weight). BTMS 25 vs BTMS 50: What’s the Difference? BTMS 25 is made up two different Ingredients, from which it derives its double-duty function. It contains: 25% Behentrimonium Methosulfate (BTMS, for short), a conditioning agent, and; 75% Cetearyl Alcohol, an emulsifying agent. Similarities: Both of them contain the conditioning Ingredient called BTMS (Behentrimonium Methosulfate). Both of them contain an emulsifying agent, although different ones. Differences: BTMS 25 contains 25% of the active conditioning agent BTMS: BTMS 50 contains 50% of the conditioning agent. The emulsifying wax in BTMS 25 is Cetearyl Alcohol, while the emulsifying wax in BTMS 50 is Cetyl Alcohol .
