Description Panthenol Gel (liquid) is an active ingredient in the cosmetic and personal care industry loved for its diverse functionality – humectant, anti-irritant and barrier repair. It is a multi-tasking ingredient that helps keep the skin and hair hydrated (humectant), calms irritations (soothing), and helps repair damaged skin barrier and hair, as well as strengthens the hair. Panthenol, commonly known as D-Panthenol or Provitamin B5, is a synthetic form of Vitamin B5, and is used as an ingredient in many topical formulations for skin and hair care. See typical usage rates below: Basic moisturizing: 0.5-1% Soothing, repairing, stronger hydration: 1-5% ‎Creams and Lotions: 0.5-3% ‎Hair products: 0.1-1.0% ‎Hair styling products: 0.5-0.75% ‎Shampoos and conditioners: 0.75-1%   ‎HEAT SENSITIVITY: Panthenol Gel is heat-sensitive – it’s unstable when exposed to temperature above 40°C (104°F) and loses potency. Therefore, ensure not to heat your Panthenol-based formula above that temperature.  Due to this, it’s better to add it to the cool-down phase of your formulation, at below 40°C. In contrast, Powdered Panthenol is not heat-sensitive, and can be incorporated into the heated water phase) of not above 50°C, and heated briefly. ‎HOW TO DISSOLVE/ MIX: First dilute/ mix the Panthenol  Gel with a small amount of water before incorporating it into your formulation. INCORPORATION PHASE: Add Panthenol Gel to the water phase of your formulation, at the cool-down phase., and stir until it’s well mixed and incorporated. ‎FINAL PH: Adjust the final pH of your formulation to 3.5 to 7.0, which is the optimal pH range of Panthenol. Ensure to adjust your final product to this pH range when formulating with Panthenol. Compatibility with Other Actives: Panthenol pairs well with other active ingredients.  Combining Panthenol with other  hydrators, barrier rebuilders, and antioxidants significantly enhances the effectiveness of the final product. It is also compatible with Niacinamide, Ceramides, Humectants such as Glycerin and Hyaluronic Acid, Peptides, Vitamin C (MAP).
